Westland, Massachusetts. Two residents of Boston’s western suburbs will share the 2021 Lily Pulitzer Prize, the eighth award awarded to a Bay State woman in the past decade.

“I am honored and humbled,” said 59-year-old Mitzi Frobisher, a retired “personal banker.” “I don’t want anyone to get hurt because I know that other women worked as hard as I did.”
Another winner is Heidi Allen, a mother of two and a grandmother of four. She said she would use her share to make the world a better place by buying a new sweater-skirt combo at one of her favorite local stores. “I try to bring a little joy into other people’s lives by wearing nice clothes when I walk down the street. “I know that shopping makes me happy, and I want to share it with people who respect my taste.”

Lily Pulitzer She was a fashion designer and socialite who came to be known as the “Queen of Preparation” for her company-made garments featuring bright and colorful floral prints. “Wallace Simpson, the Duchess of Windsor said a woman cannot be too rich or too skinny. “Lily turned it to her head, or at least to the side, and said a woman could never be too pink or too green.” The Lilly Pulitzer Prizes are awarded annually for outstanding achievements in combining pink and green clothing and green and pink clothing.
